This is the recipe from “Georgia Agrirama” corn meal. When you have the opportunity to buy this, I strongly recommend. I bought this at House of Plantation. We were travelling north from Florida.
1 ¼ cup cornmeal (has to be white) (weiss Maismehl)
1 ¼ self rising flour
¼ cup white sugar
¾ tsp salt
1 ½ cup milk
¼ cup shortening, melted
1 L egg or 2 small eggs.
1. mix all dry ingredients, then add the liquid ingredients.
2. bake at 425F for 25 minutes.

and the corn, you add this into boiling water with salt and cook for 10 minutes!
