What makes the sauce thick is the bread in the milk…Here is the recipe.
230 g shrimps, the raw ones.
12 g raw peanuts, you toast in a pan.
1 c milk
60 g queso fresco, you can replace this with cottage cheese.
2 g palillo
1 ají amarillo, yellow chili
1 piece of white bread or any bread you have, with no grains, can be rye, whole wheat…
1/4 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1. in oil, caramelize onions and garlic, add palillo, mix then add shrimps, cook until shrimps are orange. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
2. put bread, peanuts, ají amarillo in milk, soak then put in mixer.
3. add #2 in #1, mix, then add queso fresco and continue cooking for about 5 minutes. You may add more milk, if the sauce is too dense. Add peas, frozen is fine. Sprinkle parsley.
The amount of chili and palillo that is in this recipe is okay for kids. My familiy loves this recipe.
