Recipe: Dutch Pancakes ♪

What makes these pancakes Dutch? The thinness of the pancake, the famous Pannenkoek, or the Pfannkuchen in german.  We once went to a Zoo near Groningen in the Netherlands and they had this “Pannenkoek Huis” or “Pancake House”. They only had pancakes and how did they look? 30cm diameter, it was very large, but thin. I ordered with apples, my husband had with cheese and ham. I must say, it was so delicious that I had to make my own. I am serious, I tried five times until I was happy with my pancakes, so this is my own recipe. It might be very easy for you, pancakes is something that every parent prepare for their kids here in Germany, but I had difficulties with it. It was either too sweet or too dark. How do you make your pancakes?

1 cup flour
pinch salt
½ cup white sugar or less, about 90g
1 egg
2 TBSP mineral water with gas
1 TBSP vanilla
1,5 cup milk or little more

1. mix all ingredients.
2. make your pancake as thin as you can.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: It takes about 30 minutes for me.
Tip: You can serve with apples, peaches, syrup, powder sugar, cheese, champignons, pineapples, spinach. It is like a pizza, but sweet!
