Recipe: Marzipan horns (Germany)

Have you tried this pastry? You cannot miss it, if you go to a bakery shop in Germany, they are called Marzipan Hörnchen. I made with Marzipan from Germany, from Dr. Oetker, each package contains 200g. You can find good Marzipan at Whole Foods as well, please do not confuse this with almond paste, it has to be Marzipan.

1 package Marzipan, around 200g
1 egg white
3 TBSP almond essence
1 tsp vanilla
125 g sugar
sliced almonds
chocolate glace, I took a bar of chocolate and melted.
powder sugar
baking sheet

1. mix all ingredients in a bowl, marzipan, egg white, almond essence, vanilla and sugar.
2. form your horns and roll in sliced almonds, be careful that the paste is soft. Do your best.
3. place your horns on baking sheet and bake them for about 12 to 13 minutes at 345F.
4. once cool, dip the sides with chocolate.

These pastries taste best the next day.
